A metal press brake is a device necessary for bending a piece of sheet metal. As a non-professional metal worker, you may not have all the equipments and devices in your garage. Although you may have bending machines and hi tech equipment to do the job, you may still want to have a metal press brake to do bending manually.

With your simple tools, you can make your own metal press brake at home.

First, you have to determine the angle you want to make and mark it with a protractor. Cut out the metal and with the use of a grinder, refine its edges.

Insert the angle iron in length with the piece of sheet metal into the vice and sandwich them. The metal will bend towards you as you bend it.

With the use of a butane torch, heat the section where the bend will take place and heat the part until it glows orange. When it does, use pliers to pull the top of the metal and pull it gently towards you. Pull it as far as it can go without forcing it.

Move on to the other bends by removing the metal from the vice and repeating the previous process.
